Housing Options in Dundee - How we let our houses

How Do You Rate This
Information/Service?

The allocation of our housing is based on housing need as defined under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001.

Our applicants are divided into the following four groups depending on their current circumstances and need:

  • Homeless
  • General Needs
  • Redevelopment
  • Choice

Homeless
This group contains applicants who have been assessed by our Homeless Services Staff as having a priority need under current homelessness legislation. In addition this group contains applicants leaving prison, those living in 'tied' accommodation and people leaving HM Forces.

General Needs
This group contains all applicants assessed as having a need for housing in terms of our current Allocations Policy.

Redevelopment
This group contains applicants whose current accommodation is scheduled for demolition or redevelopment.

Choice
Applicants in this group are those who have been assessed as being adequately housed in terms of our Allocations Policy and who have no points.
