Mills Observatory Programme 2010
Information/Service?
During your summer break, why not pop along to Mills Observatory's daytime Planetarium Shows. If you haven't yet had the chance to attend one of these events, don't worry. A programme of daytime shows has been planned for the remainder of the summer, taking place at 2pm on the following dates:
Wed 18 Aug
Wed 15 Sept
Booking for the daytime Planetarium Shows is essential, since places are limited. Admission £1 adults, 50p children.
Dundee Astronomical Society's events continue with a talk in August and September, looking at Earth from space and the solar system. Details can be found on their website at www.dundeeastro.com. Non-members welcome.
As the daylight hours get shorter in the coming Autumn, book for the Observatory's regular fortnightly talks and tours of the night sky in the small planetarium, where you'll learn about Asteroids, Galaxies and how to measure the distance of the Stars!
Group visits can also be arranged for most evenings, and for the less mobile, there is closed circuit television so you can view the skies at ground level, and join in the fun with everyone else! A small charge applies to arranged group visits and for public planetarium shows. Booking is essential.
Until the end of September, the summer opening hours at Mills are:
Tuesday to Friday 11am-5pm
Saturday & Sunday 12.30-4pm
